Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Sports College has applied to become a Multi Academy Company (MAC) with some of our partner primary schools. This will help to secure Catholic education for 3-19 year olds for generations to come. School will be accountable to DFE and OFSTED, as any school is and should be. By working together, the Multi Academy Company will be able to secure additional resource

s for our students that may not normally be so readily affordable. There will be opportunities such as increased staff development, cross phase learning, student leadership and increased building developments and resources.

Should the schools be successful, Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Sports College, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School and Holy Rosary Catholic Primary School will form a company called ‘The Pope John XXIII Catholic Multi Academy Company’. This name has been carefully chosen. Pope John XXIII was known for his reform of the church through the Second Vatican Council. Pope John always tried to listen to what God was asking of him and his prayer was, ‘May my feet be swift to spread peace and the good things of God’. The crest for Pope John XXIII is pictured to the right of this letter and will feature on our school signs and branding. If successful, School will convert on Monday 2nd March 2015, which is also the Feast of St Chad. Each of the schools will retain their own name. For example, Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy (A Specialist Sports College). That said, you will see both the school name and the company name on all letters, signage etc. This is an exciting time for good schools locally, to work together in true partnership for the good of our communities.

I look forward to this new development on our journey to providing outstanding education.
