Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy staff and students are incredibly saddened by the loss of one of their own, Joseph Guy, Year 12, following a collision with a vehicle whilst training on his bike.   Joseph was a beautiful, unassuming, gentle young man; full of talent and academically gifted. Joseph was kind, generous, empathetic and the greatest representation of the values we hold so dear at our Academy. A true pleasure to have as a part of our family at Our Lady and St Chad, Joseph will forever be missed by our community. Students and staff will always remember Joseph and his memory will be an inspiration to young sportsmen and women for many years to come.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time.

Should any family have concerns about a student coping with bereavement, please contact the Academy. Winston’s Wish provides excellent advice for children who are suffering from bereavement.

Principals welcome

Welcome to Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy, an Academy within the Pope John XXIII MAC family.

Our School mission is underpinned by the Gospel values of, Respect, Truth, Justice, Peace, Charity and Forgiveness.  Within these core values, the Academy begins a journey of ‘Demand more… Inspire curiosity… Secure resilience to failure’ to support families in nurturing children to be young adults of integrity and academic excellence.

Our patron saint is St Chad, whose life as a monk and his dedication to the faith inspires the whole Community to achieve ‘beyond’ their potential. Our students wear the St Chad Cross on their ties and blazers showing that they too are ‘inspirers of the faith’.

Our Academy passionately believes that we are ‘Strong alone, but unstoppable together’ and it is this Philosophy which enables us to continue the work of the early Apostles and ensure that the Mission of the Church is alive, vibrant and lived by all members of the Pope John XXIII MAC family.

Throughout their Academy experience, children are taught the importance of being a good person.  Students from Our Lady and St Chad are unique.  They understand the importance of learning and growing in an environment where Gospel values and virtues are implicit to expectations and achievement.

I hope this website serves to give you a glimpse of the Academy. However, we firmly believe that knowledge of our Academy family is gained through experience and should you wish to visit us a warm welcome awaits for all parents and members of the wider community.

Kindest wishes,

Miss THL Ellis

Our Mission

We will work and learn through faith, prayer and trust in God.
We will be guided by the teachings of his son Jesus Christ and the Church, in a school where, as we live in communion,we are empowered to respect ourselves and one another.

We will build a community where all have the confidence to make the choices which will enable us to become the best that we can be.
We will work to treasure creation with wisdom and wonder.
